General Cancellations and Refunds Policy

Cancellation by Student

Local Students

All course cancellations must be in writing.

Students who pay for their entire course prior to commencement will receive a refund of monies paid less $800 if they withdraw or cancel their enrolment 10 business days or more prior to course commencement – no refund will be provided if students withdraw or cancel their enrolment after this period.

For students paying via instalments, all monies paid will not be refunded under any circumstance. Cancellation or withdrawal from courses does not absolve students from the obligation to pay remaining monies owed as agreed upon during sign-up.

Non-payment of monies owed will result in fines or other penalties and recovery of the outstanding amount through debt collection (Refer to Fines and Penalties Schedule).

Online Students

All course cancellations must be in writing.

Due to the instant nature of access to online course materials, no refunds apply to any monies paid.

International Students

Our General Cancellations and Refunds Policy as well as our Fines and Penalties Schedule do not apply to international students. All relevant cancellation terms, refund eligibilities, applicable fines and penalties for international students are specified in the Letters of Offer.

Australian Consumer Law

All our services come with statutory guarantees under Australian Consumer Law (ACL). KBS guarantees that all our services are: provided with due care and skill; fit for the specified purposes; and provided within a reasonable time frame.

Where KBS does not meet a statutory guarantee, students are entitled to a remedy. For problems classified under ACL as a major failure, students can choose to: terminate the contract for services and obtain a full refund; or seek compensation for the difference between the value of the services provided compared to the price paid.

For issues classified under ACL as a non-major failure, KBS will resolve the issue as quickly as possible without any further cost to students. This may entail the repeat delivery of services or the substitution of services as may be appropriate given the specific circumstances of each failure.

Students may also seek compensation for any forseeable loss or damage suffered due to problems with the services provided by KBS.

Nothing in the Letter of Offer (where applicable) or in any other material produced by KBS purports to modify or exclude the statutory guarantees, or other legal rights, under ACL that are unable to be so modified or excluded.
